Giving back to others reflects our commitment to healthy, happy communities. We dedicate time and financial resources to support our employees and these organizations:
International Children’s Care (ICC)
One of the founders of Koelsch Communities, Alice Koelsch-Schultz had been a long time contributor and board member of ICC and Koelsch Communities has continued her legacy in supporting this organization for many years. International Children’s Care is a foundation designed to consider the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of children in needy countries. Their aim is to not simply provide food and a roof, but to provide “homes” and families to children across the globe.
American Diabetes Association
Diabetes strikes nearly 25% of our residents, a disease that has literally gotten out of control in America. There are 20.8 million children and adults in the United States who have diabetes, and unfortunately nearly one-third are unaware that they even have the disease. Our residents, families, and employees are all affected directly or indirectly by this disease. We feel the cure is close and support the American Diabetes Association in fighting this disease.
Worldwide it is estimated that about 16 million people have Alzheimer’s disease, 4.5 million of them are Americans and we at Koelsch Communities serve nearly 700 everyday with this number climbing. This is an astounding number of individuals and families affected by this disease, and it’s a number that continually grows. We have been involved with the Alzheimer’s Association for over 20 years and will continue to be involved until a cure is found.
Rotary Club of America
Throughout all of Koelsch Senior Communities or staff at all levels are committed to bringing change in our local communities and abroad. Rotary Club of America is 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in their communities and around the world.
Union Gospel Mission
At Koelsch Senior Communities, we understand that there are many good people in our neighborhoods who struggle to make ends meet and we are dedicated to helping. The Union Gospel Mission provides emergency care and long-term recovery services to low income and homeless people. They’re dedicated to serving, rescuing and transforming the lives of those in greatest need through assistance and programs.
